Karina Valentin

Karina Valentin is a University of Chicago graduate from San Juan, Puerto Rico. She currently attends Western University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine. Now at the end of her second year in dental school, she’s started working with patients at the WesternU dental clinic and loves the experience. Treating patients in a largely Hispanic community reminds her of her community back home. When she’s not in clinic, she’s heavily involved in both ASDA (American Student Dental Association) and ADEA (American Dental Education Association). At the chapter level, Karina is the WesternU ADEA Vice-President and WesternU ASDA Academic Enrichment Chair. On the national level, she is currently the ASDA District 11 Trustee. These organizations have inspired her to help implement even greater positive change for the dental student experience, both in California and nationwide. After graduation, Karina hopes to continue her involvement while working in a clinic in San Francisco.
